Which Summer Show Best Matches Your Personality?
By Courtney Birk
It’s no surprise temperatures this July might break a few record highs and everyone in Texas knows there’s only a few ways to beat the summer heat, get indoors. More specifically our doors! We promise to share our air conditioning at these three summer shows. But with so many great options to choose from, how do you decide which one to attend? Let us help!
If you’re a 90’s kid:
We’re bringing back our grunge days with Smashing Pumpkins Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour on Monday, July 16. You’ll especially love this show if you attended similar band concerts such as a few of my personal favorites; Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails or were lucky enough to see the Foo Fighters at Austin 360 Amphitheater at Circuit of the Americas on Wednesday, April 18. Don’t miss these GRAMMY® Award-winning alternative rock pioneers as they bring their first tour in nearly 20 years featuring founding members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin and James Iha. Don’t feel like a rat in a cage, come out and we will party like its 1979.
Going through a breakup or feeling a little emotional lately?
Cry your heart out with award winning singer-song writer Sam Smith who has had five of the most popular songs on the radio including, “Stay with Me,” “Too Good At Goodbyes,” “I’m Not The Only One,” “Latch” and “Lay Me Down.” Sam Smith returns to our stage for The Thrill of It All Tour on Saturday, July 21 for the first time since 2015. You don’t want to miss what Rolling Stone is calling “one of the mightiest, most expressive singers of his generation.” We suggest bringing some extra tissues in your clear bag for this event.
For happy go lucky souls looking for some fun upbeat summer vibes:
We are excited to welcome Daryl Hall & John Oates back to our house for the first time since April 1, 1982, but this time with a special guest Train on Saturday, July 28. This marks the first time legendary duo Daryl Hall & John Oates will tour together with fellow award winning hit makers, Train after recently touring Austin360 Amphitheater on May 17, 2016. This concert is for all you rich girls who’s gone too far, make up for it by buying tickets for your best friends and make their dreams come true!
