As a music fan, nothing hurts more than hearing your favorite band or artist is calling it quits or taking an “indefinite hiatus.” The thought of never hearing a new song or seeing them live in concert again is almost too much to bear. But just when you give up hope and you’re ready to let go, they come back with a vengeance and all is right with the world again!
These artists left their fans devastated when they left the music scene, but boy did they come back strong!
Rage Against the Machine
Rage Against the Machine called it quits late in the year 2000 and after almost seven years, reunited at the 2007 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival, playing for the largest crowd of the weekend.
Garth Brooks officially announced his retirement in October 2000 with hopes of focusing on his family. After 14 long years, he announced he would be releasing a new album “Man Against the Machine” and taking his show on the road with a new world tour.
Thousands of teenage girls’ hearts broke when the Backstreet Boys announced the departure of Kevin Richardson and although they continued producing music, something just didn’t feel right. Luckily, Richardson decided to rejoin the group in 2012 and the band has since produced a new album, toured with New Kids on the Block and recently announced the release of their documentary, “Backstreet Boys: Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of.”
It remains unclear what exactly tore Fleetwood Mac apart but all that really matters is that the original band is back together and they’re coming to the Erwin Center on March 1!
