Flashback Friday: Bruce Springsteen

This month’s Flashback Friday must have a special place in his heart for Austin during the month of April because he’s rocked our stage on THREE different occasions during this particular month: April 15, 1988; April 17, 2000; and April 5, 2009. In total, the rock ‘n’ roll icon has played the Erwin Center six times!

Best known for his work with the E Street Band, New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen brought his Tunnel of Love Express Tour to the Erwin Center April 15, 1988, fresh off the release of his eighth studio album, “Tunnel of Love.” Fans lined up outside the Erwin Center to see the young rock star, were you here?

Springsteen’s monumental career, which has spanned nearly four decades, has earned him 20 Grammy awards, two Golden Globes, one Academy Award and numerous other accolades. We’re honored to have had the opportunity to host this rock ‘n’ roll legend several times throughout his career. He just recently released his latest album “High Hopes,” so maybe we’ll see Springsteen back on our stage next April?
