Ring in the New Year with Free Week 2015

By Laura Bennett

The holidays have unfortunately come to a close, but even after we’ve spent all of our money on holiday gifts, parties and vacations, we still want to get out of the house and have a good time! Austin’s Free Week 2015 is the perfect solution to beat those post holiday blues with ten days and more than 150 live music events all for the low price of $Free.99. If you’re feeling down in the dumps about having to return to your regular routine, grab some friends, make your way toward downtown Austin, roam around the streets until you hear a tune that delights your ear buds and support local musicians!

Here are just a few Austin artists you can check out this week!

The Gents
Catch them on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at The Scoot Inn.

O Conqueror
Let these guys “put music in your ear holes” on Thursday, Jan. 8 at Holy Mountain.

The Sour Notes
See them on Thursday, Jan. 8 at Lamberts and Friday, Jan. 9 at Red 7.

These Austin favorites will hit the stage Friday at Empire Control Room on Friday, Jan. 9.

These “frndz” will be rocking out on Friday, Jan. 9 at Empire Control Room and Saturday, Jan. 10 at Red 7.

Amplified Heat
Catch the self-described “loud, menacing, psychedelic, blues based” rockers on Friday, Jan. 9 at Swan Dive.

Hundred Visions
You won’t want to miss this “psychic taco rock” on Saturday, Jan. 10 at Mohawk.

Shivery Shakes
Close out your Saturday night with them on Jan. 10 at Empire Control Room.
